Hotel Posta is an historical hotel located in Longarone near Belluno, Italy. Longarone is surrounded by the Dolomites Alps and is well known for the Vajont's disaster that took place the 9th October 1963, when am immense landslide made the dam's water go out and destroyed part of the old town. The Vajont's Dam, shut down since then, can be perfectly seen from the hotel's windows.
Near Longarone there is also the Piave River's valley. Rich of historical meaning, the river was a strategic line of defense during the First World War. During the most dry seasons the bed of the river can be accessed by foot, a nice walk between streams and water-levigated stones.
The Posta Hotel is located in the Longarone's main square and take his name from the close postal office. It can be reached easily by foot from the train station in just a couple of minutes. By car, it is within 5 Km from the Belluno exit of the A27 freeway Venezia-Belluno.
