Itineraries in Longarone, Castellavazzo, and Erto-Casso.

The dam tours are led by professional staff of the Longarone's local administration. They will provide visitors with complete information about the Vajont's disaster, both from a past and present point of view. The service, available on request, takes place through three different logical routes, tailored on the demands and interests of the specific group, to favor the historical, natural, geological or urban aspect of the visit.

A video documentary of Longarone's history from the historical archive of RAI (Italian National Television) is available, along with the vision of the photographic exhibition at the headquarters of local administration located just a few meters away fron the hotel. The administration also hosts the Vajont's museum exhibition where the first 1:85 scale model of the dam made ​​on behalf of orignal commissioning company can be seen.

The new Michelucci's church, just a few meters from the local administration and the Hotel Posta, contains the Pietre Vive (translation: living stones) museum, with reconstructions and original ruins from the old church that was destroyed in the disaster. Tourists can also visit the monumental cemetery of the victims with its photographic tour. It is also possible to visit and access the dam itself.

Erto Casso

Erto e Casso sono stati segnati dalla catastrofe del 9 ottobre 1963 i cui simboli sono la frana del Monte Toc, i sedimi delle abitazioni distrutte, la diga del Vajont e l'omonimo lago. Qui il tempo si è fermato cancellando in pochi minuti un antichissimo e particolare stile di vita.

L'abitato di Casso è un ottimo punto di osservazione per vedere interamente la frana del Monte Toc.

Il Comune di Erto e Casso fa parte, con il suo territorio, del Parco Naturale Dolomiti Friulane

Presso il centro visite è stato allestito un museo. Esso è suddiviso in due sezioni :
una fotografica e una tecnica.
Quella tecnica è intitolata "Uno spazio della memoria" ed è relativa agli  eventi della catastrofe, della vita di prima, degli espropri, della progettazione della diga, della dura battaglia per rimanere nella valle e infine i vari processi dove lo Stato è presente nelle vesti di "imputato, difensore e giudice"

A Erto vive e lavora lo scrittore, scultore e alpinista Mauro Corona.

Nei pressi della diga del Vajont esiste una palestra naturale di roccia, famosa in tutto il mondo e meta di numerosi free climbers.

Manifestazioni tradizionali come la suggestiva sacra rappresentazione della Passione e Morte di Gesù "Al Véindhre séint" perdura da quattro secoli ed è forte motivo di richiamo.
